Thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions with the knives.

I was really keen on the Global knives due to how highly they were recommended, but was not a fan of the handle. I followed the advice and went to handle a few, and ended up with a lesser known brand, Icel. They were cheaper than Victorinox, but have a slightly higher quality blade, and more importantly were more comfortable. I picked up a paring, chef, and bread knife for $120. I've purchased my first place so am on a bit of a budget, and am very glad I seemingly picked up a bargain.

Thai Pothong is popular, food is ok but i prefer Doytao. Gigi is excellent - great vegan place. Worthwhile going to is Cow and the Moon for Gelato, which is a short uber ride away. Yulli's at Surry Hills is also good for vegetarian.

I’ve had the vegetarian degustation plus wine at Yellow a number of times. Two years ago it inspired me to do an eight course vegetarian degustation dinner party with matching wine & a couple of gin based cocktails. The night finally finished at 1.30am. ( I think)

@sliq I’ve eaten at Doytao, good food and spae. Gelato Messina is better IMHO.

The promlem is that the 28th is a Monday and a public holiday, so choice is limited. Will probably opt for GiGi. And I’ve filed away all the suggestions for future reference.

Monopole has an excellent wine list. Had some very interesting Pinot Noir, never eaten there.

I know Fratelli is not fine dining. We occasionally eat prior to STC productions. Over the past few years the food has been good.

What a brilliant way to get people to check out your website. From the AFR:

Ms Reeves' admission as a self-confessed "luddite" may have spared Quick Brown Fox from foot-traffic cannibalisation by virtue of not having a fully operational online store yet.

"We have a very ****** online store. A really unkempt, embarrassing online store, which we are planning to work on in the next few months. But currently, I wouldn't advise anyone to go on there," she said.
