1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

What do the rest of the world think about GBs attempt to host the "Greatest show on Earth?"

Chinese Press - 'the mayor is like Mr Bean. . . up to all kinds of silliness’

The New York Daily (talking about the UK being gambling mad) - “It’s 8/1 that the wrong national anthem will get played at any medal ceremony. It is 1,000/1 that President Obama or Prime Minister David Cameron will admit that their air forces have seen a UFO over the Olympic Stadium… We are not making this up.”

The French press - "London is a great village fair, and Hyde Park a festive circus"

The Russinas - "'These British spectators seem to come from another planet"

If compared to the 2004 Beijing Olympic Games, well, London is not what I expected..

Well, the year of 2004 existed and the Beijing Olympic Games existed, but it seems that the two can't possibly exist in the same line. 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. sorry about the typo.
