There might be a quality control issue going on with the tight calves, or something else going on - I've tried on pairs of canvas pants with variable calf width in the same size. I was all set to buy a pair, went back and tried on a different pair, and couldn't get them over my ankles haha

And it's not like you had been on an airplane for 16 hours right before trying on the second pair, right? I have to imagine that in this world of uniquely made goods, some variability is inevitable. Makes returns kind of a *****, though. And makes buying the next pair a bit of a nail-biter.

Thanks for the info, Doc. Still on the fence. Such a hi rise on those (as well as the canvas) that I'm still unsure. My frame does a lot better with a 9-10.5" rise than the almost 12" these measure. For the linen it's not that big a deal but the thicker fabrics just end up being restrictive when I walk (pants rarely fit on me where they should but I'm working on that aspect).

You will love those sneaks. I am sure of it.

@AlexanderTG , here are some close-up picks to complement Eck's medium-range shot. Just an iPhone, mind you.

Beautiful fabric. Really interesting color variations.

Finally got my Aktenorder briefcase from Esde. Ronny was a pleasure to deal with during the whole process and would recommend his work if you're interested in any of his bags.

As previously said, it's made with thick shell cordovan with the reverse side as the exterior and with the straps with thick cowhide. Hardware is oxidized brass I think. Normally, he uses thick cowhide but I inquired if he can make one using horsehide. Luckily, he had shell cordovan.
