People think those guys below know nothing about how to wear Black-Tie in the Right Way because of a NOTCH LAPEL TUXEDO and NO CUMBERBUND ?

or just because they want to break the Old Rules? and the whole Formal menswear is becoming more and more casual?

THE OLD AND NEW LOUIS VUITTON Creative Director are completely WRONG BLACK TIE :

or maybe it's a sign that nobody cares about "rules" anymore, it's not like people like brad pitt even have correct fitting pants most of the time... I asked myself these questions all the time. After looking at the people behind famous people (especially movie stars) aka the people that dress them I just think they don't care or know better...

Instead of thinking about rules, I think it's more useful to think about whether something looks good. Those rigs to me just don't look good.

Once you think of things in terms of rules, rather than guidelines, it becomes an endless game of pedantry where people nitpick whether something is technically correct. IMO, it's more useful to develop your eye, although if you haven't yet done that, the rules can guide you towards better choices. Guys who are super hung up on rules often get hung up on weird things, such as whether you can wear a watch with black tie.
