Moogoo - I recently bought a similar vintage in a 9.5E and yours look quite the same (from the pics, anyway). Looks like shell to me. Even if they aren't as nice as you think, now you can dump those ****** India-made shoes.
Better for me to have a thirfted version of your shoes than for you to have a thrifted version of my house/lifestyle/etc. eh?
It's not always so clear when something is shell or not, maybe the lining has an effect? I have the following shoes (which I posted in the shoes with character thread) which I have always suspected of being shell, but really don't know. They are half lined, and I think below vamp they are linen-lined. They have some micro-creasing, but they have the same "dull shine" of shell and don't take polish or conditioner too well. I have them pegged as either CG or shell. I also agree with Moo that the puckering around the lace holes seems like a shell trait.
Seriously Moo, why have a cow over a pair of $47 used shoes?.
Not sure if this helps,
How do you thrift a lifestyle that already mandates wearing smelly, used shoes? I shudder to fathom it.
Now, these flagrantly are NOT shell b/c of the "micro-creasing", correct? (Click Enlarge)

If you're unemployed with tens of thousands of dollars worth of custom clothing in your wardrobe, you might be an igent.
NOT shell !
Definitely not. I love how the seller puts "Shell Cordovan?" with a question mark in the description of the item, as a nice cover-his-ass bit in case the buyer gets angry.
