I just remembered: Traverse City. I hear it is nice. Then again, it's in Wolverine territory.

Traverse City is actually on the northern end of the lower peninsula but it is really nice.

they have a fantastic shoe store on the corner of maine and applejacks. every thursday if the weather is nice the locals get together and have a huge bbq. its world famous. the bar scene is ok but full of pretty ugly people. just get drunk and have a good time! i say go get em cowboy!

happened to me once on my road trip through the states. the night in DC couldnt find **** all to do on a sunday night. walked everywhere. asked some girl and she told us to go to this place near a matress store or something. no sign etc but it was an old house redone into a club with different house music in every room. it was pretty nuts and a crazy vibe.

There's a fun strip club up there called Bean Snappers. It's kind of reminiscent of Porky's in a kitchy kind of way.

Also, they have some great beer festivals and such.

Ah, the Snap. I haven't heard that name in a long time. It might be the only place you can't buy beer in Appleton.
