Fresco shirt jacket?! That's original.

I have the Minnis 0520 in the breast welt and hip patch configuration. I entirely credit and thank Manton for the blazersuit idea and am really happy with the way it looks.

If I go with breast welt and hip patch, should I get swelled edges? Something about a patch pocket without a swelled edge strikes me as sad. But a breast pocket with a double stitched edge also seems over done.

Halp!

Double-stitched, but no swelling!

I went into a Chan appt yesterday thinking I'd order two sport coats from these options: tan linen, taupe linen, green linen, patterned linen/silk/wool blend, green corduroy. But then I saw the the 0520 and got that.

Just a sport coat w/ three patch pockets, swelled edges, matte mid-brown buttons, 3 roll 2, and 4 sleeve buttons. Now I'm wondering if I should try two buttons. I know people like one large button, but I don't think I'm that adventurous. Any thoughts?

Consider making a suit or a Blazersuit rather than a sport coat. The 0520 is beautiful cloth.

I have a Tonik suit in a very similar color to the 0520. I think it looks great, even at night.

I did consider it and may change. I think Vox once wrote that it wouldn't make a good sport coat. But I already have a navy blue blazer suit, I rarely wear suits and I doubt I'd wear the pants separately.

What is the fascination with 0520, I have it but probably wouldn't get it again.

I wondered the same thing. But irl the fabric a rich, heathered blue. Almost navy, but not quite.

I believe the attraction is the shade of blue. Works with certain skin tones better than others.

Which tones in particular, do you think?

I've tried using it as a sportcoat and have switched back to using the traditional navy blazer. IMO dark navy is much easier to use as an odd jacket. I think dark navy more versatile for Blazersuit purposes. I prefer the lighter than navy blue suit for festive events, particularly at night, where dark navy might appear too formal or severe.
