Probably makes more sense to experiment with a $20 pair of Levis STF than it does with a pair of $200 denim.

Why did you buy 4 pairs of raw denim if you don't have the patience to wear them in?

If you don't want people to call you a marsupial, then don't buy 4 pairs of raw denim and complain that you want fades but don't want to wear slim raw jeans daily. Jesus 4 pairs of raw denim would take forever to fade through.

If you really want to distress them though, I would set some creases, get them hot soaked and get some handfuls of sand/other gritty stuff and rub the **** out of them. Then take a cheese grater to the knees or something. It'll look stupid, but not as stupid as 4 pairs of raw denim for someone who doesn't want to wear them everyday.

I am going to distress some of my currently raw denim because I am sick of having 4 pairs of jeans that all look the ******* same... hmmmm what to wear today? how bout some slim raw jeans.... hmmmm.... what to wear tomorrow? how bout some slim raw jeans....

I'd rather give it a try myself than buy a pair of already ditressed KMW's or RRL's, when I already got some lying around the house. If it doesnt work out, then so be it, I will just buy some pre-distressed.

But this ******* fascination with raw denim needs to subcide... I would say 90% of the people on here had never heard of raw denim, let alone wore it more than 4 years ago, now they're all like... OMG you cant buy distressed denim... thats so NJ scumbag or guido looking. NO, wearing jeans with studs on the pockets, or crosses, or dragons or whatever the **** else is NJ scum looking.

I will admit I sold many of my distressed denim, and bought a number of pairs of raw jenas over the past couple years but frankly I am quite sick of the whole look, time for a change. 1 or 2 pairs of raw, dark, clean looking denim is enough for me.

A little late to the party, but why did you buy 4 pairs of jeans that "look all the ******* same"? I have a pair of blue and black raw denim, the blue ones that have a great fade, and now I'm looking for a new raw pair. Unless the fits of the jeans are completely different, I just don't get it apart from looking to blow your money (which is your right, of course).

mostly because not all denim fits the same and the different raw denim all looks slightly different (fit, feel, wieght, shade, etc.)

I have apc NS, Rescues, Acne max, and NDG classic, all raw, all slightly different... so far the apc ns and ndg are the only pairs that have gotten any wear. They were not all bought at once, but I do like having more than one pair of jeans, that is the reason for buying them.

really, cheese grater to the knees? great idea.

Just gonna keep the apc and ndg since they have already been worn a bit and will be selling the other two, since the diy distressing is not seeming plausible without the proper set up (i.e., tools) and techniques. Would like to see pics from the poster who said he distressed his NS's and they came out great tho...

get ur jeans wet and walk around a bit, then sandpaper the creases. then get a wet rag and scrub all the other parts of the jeans so those areas will fade a lil bit also.

This thread is abortion quality.

Seriously why buy four pair and then rage quit raw denim?

Don't sell, just wear the F***ers.

See mauro for good washed jeans, he will know what you want.

Aren't thier stacks of Japanese denim brands that do good quality faded washes? APC butler denim?

Don't sell your raws just add a cool washed pair you really like.

In a few years when those badboys look sweet you will not regret keeping them.

Do other people think the powerfadez we see give false expectations? As much as I like seeing them, average fades are cooler.

If he's intention is to get mad fadez in relatively short period of time, he'll have no hope with 4 pairs, at least he should sell 2 of them if he wants to get fades the proper way. I'll also say though that I'm biased in that I'm not a fan of raw denim and think in my close minded (paging arw) opinion anything more than 1 or 2 pairs is redundant (particularly considering the similarities between a lot of the japanese selvage brands)

Xenox, you are the sartorial nemesis of an unchosen champion.

I mean really, WTF.

OP, keep what you have and look at getting something wierd to mix it up, either prewashed artisinal fade or a bizzare finish type jean.

Don't sell what you have, just wear them in fits. Fade over time. Don't think about it, don't be afraid to wear them hard and you will get something cool in time.
