@josef1 any updates on sizing in 955?
Let me get back to you in about 6 hours! I'm receiving the pair tonight. Fingers crossed!

Finally got them! I ordered half size down 6.5UK from my usual as the shop (Seamless Bespoke Singapore) recommended as well for all loafers. Fit wise I'm not quite sure if I could've gone all the way down to 6UK, seems like a big leap going full size down but initially I do have some definite heel slip. Then again 6 might have been too cramped on the toe box but snug all around, right now i can still wiggle my toes and place one finger behind my heel if I push all my toes in. I guess it's too early to tell and breaking in might just solve this completely. I had a similar problem with Carlos Santos shoes on the 234 last, heel slip at first, but now they fit great after break in. My only worry is that besides the sole break in, the uppers might loosen up a bit too, and since these are loafers I wont have space to tighten. Time will tell but right now it feels like a break in issue, and maybe the G width doesnt help as well as mentioned by @noimael

If anyone has similar experiences, please do share! My next step is tongue pad if break in doesnt fix the slip.

As for quality, wow. These are my first pair of Yankos and I'm quite impressed.

Burgundy really comes out under the sun

Very impressive and clean finishing

The calf leather is noticeably smooth and almost blemish free. Even started doubting if this was corrected grain haha!

Open channel stitching? This was odd to me as I've read and seen that Yanko does closed channel nowadays, any info? I dont mind tho haha

Overall the quality is very good. Quite impressed with everything. I just wish the sole had more character, seems very basic vs other pairs I have that had more roundness to the edges and shape on the waist. Also wish that the edges werent completely black and had that more brownish natural finish, but thats subjective haha

Can't wait to shine these guys! Will update with pics!

Sorry if not allowed but looking to move these. Part of an MTO a few years back. Really love them but get no wear (worn 2-3x in 3 years). Size 9UK.

@josef1 I had the same issue as you regarding heel slip and unfortunately neither break in nor even anti heel slip pads helped. It became even worse after break in because the loafer stretched.

this makes me worry haha! had similar experiences with 2 other shoes though and now they dont have any more heel slip after break in, though those were lace ups. Hoping mine gets better!

Have you tried tongue pads? my half size bigger double monks fit A LOT better after tongue pads. I realized those heel grip stuff just feels odd, the tongue pads feel more seamless on feet. That would be my last option as well if my loafers still have slip after break in. Thanks for the info tho!

Fingers crossed for these beauties!

@josef1 Thanks for the write-up and pictures. I have not purchased Yanko shoes for myself yet, though I am a customer of both @Skolyx and @patinePL . I suspect that I would have to go all the way down to 5.5 UK for G-width loafers.

whats your size now? Come to think of it, full size down might be way too cramped for the toes. With my half size down now (with some heel slip) I can cramp my toes forward and fit a finger tight behind my heel.

6 UK in most shoes...Loake, Carlos Santos, Alfred Sargent, etc.

Hmmm tricky tricky. Based on more tests on my half size down (6.5UK), I have come to the conclusion that the heel slip will definitely be better with break in. Though I also realized that going a full size down (6UK) would have been way too cramped and that my toes might be curled a bit. This is based from jamming my toes forward and squeezing a finger behind my heel -- if this was the full size 6UK down fit, my toes would be curled snug.

What would really help here would be a proper size chart which shows the exact last measurement for Yanko shoes. I believe @patinePL used to have a downloadable pdf on their website, but I cannot seem to find it anymore. I have inquired in the meantime with @Skolyx about the suggested size, so looking forward to hearing their advice.

Yes this would definitely help. I went with the recommendation of Seamless Bespoke of going half a size down for loafers although they didnt mention it was a G width haha UPDATE! My half size loafters have been having less heel sleep after break in. I can further accept that this is the right size but the wrong width for my skinny feet. Heel slip still existent tho, I can actually take my shoe off while standing. But walking wise - heel slip seems to be getting better. Another thing to note is that the loafers I got seem to have a double leather sole, quite thicker than usual so my break in might take longer. Next step is a tongue pad and that would surely fit everything nicely.

A while ago I purchased these austerity brogues via @patinePL. Model is 659 on the 692 last in G width, color burgundy. Though my usual size is around UK8.5 medium, I went for UK8 G based on the now disappeared detailed measurement chart for Yanko shoes as was available on Patine's website (hope it will become available ... ).
The fit was actually quite good, to my surprise, and I am not unhappy with them! The color of the shoes straight from the box appeared a little even -- however, the leather polishes very well and turns deeper and richer. Execution of the shoe is nice: closed channeled sole, even stitching, leather looks good quality that creases well, no weird things. Below a few images of these shoes in the spring sunlight.

Thanks for looking!

I've e-thrifted a great pair of Yanko double monks and am planning to flip on eBay.

The size is marked 9 1/2.
Can anyone tell me if Yanko use UK sizes or US sizes ?
I'm guessing UK since I got the shoes here, and Spain being closer.

Also, they have EE stamped on the sole.
Is this a wider width ?

Hi,

As far as I know, Yanko uses UK sizes, like Carmina, Meermin, Berwick 1707, etc, etc. As usual, there is the usual brand-to-brand variation, and variation between lasts.

I think 'F' is the standard width for Yanko, so 'EE' will be a bit narrower.
