Hi
Gary Drinkwater, of Drinkwater's in Cambridge Ma was the first to post about this blog on this site...specifically, about famed Boston clothier Louis,Boston, in its heyday under its owner then, Murray Pearlstein.
But.........!!!
I have been following this blog since, and reading most of it, and it's ELECTRIC!
Whoever is writing it is either a mad genius, semi-sociopath or God knows what's left! I THINK it's the former, rather than the latter.
Please do yourself a favor and check it out. The posts about Louis are in there....under the title (and you can use the blog's search to find them) The General and the Merchant. Or, just search for Louis.
But the whole thing is unreal.
Amazing - in my opinion - insights on style (men's and women's), dating, young men growing through teen years, retailing (apparel), girls, women....
WARNING: Some content is blunt. The blog is VERY WORD intense and dense, so bring your reading glasses. The blog appears to be a story/memoir, told in reverse chronology, so start with July 2009 posts in archives if you want to start from the start.
Enjoy. It's awesome. Funny, scary, informative, sensitive. Very well done.
PS - And there is a WONDERFUL essay titled, "Still Wardrobes Run Deep" about the poster's father's wardrobe and style....holy smokes. Just great.
