Allen Edmonds condition

See the condition in the attached pictures. I have only wore the shoes twice. They look like I have been wearing them over a year. Is this normal? Thank you for any feedback.

Those might be 1/2 size too big.

Or are you not using shoe trees?

@Fluffer: glad to know someone else thinks it is normal. I was hoping they would have appeared new for a longer duration. I am assuming the rapid wear is part of the real leather material.

@js: I do have them in trees. I recently ordered every type of conditioner and cleaner that Allen Edmonds has. Maybe this will help. If anything, I think they may be a bit too big as hypothesized. When I walk, they fold out on both sides of my ankles. It's strange. My other pair of Allen Edmonds does not do such (they are the same size).

Where does the end of your big toe reach? Does it reach past the cap-toe line of broguing?

You might need to go down a length (and potentially up a width, if going down a length will make it too difficult for your instep / lacing).
