Woke up in a great mood so I went with one of my favorite styles and color.

I’ve got a new pair of dark red Gustin chinos, and I’m trying to see what works best.

I feel like the faded burgundy shell does not contrast enough with the dark red chinos. What do you think?

I enjoy the low contrast...takes away some focus from the shoes.

My eye is drawn to the Dalton, but both work fine.

If monochromatic is wrong, I dont want to be right.

A few years ago I saw a post by @smfdoc that left me gobsmacked. It was a pair of modified #8 Shell MacNeils with eyelets and a buff welt with white thread. Gobsmacked.

When the time came I shamelessly copied what he did. Unless he comes to Utah or Idaho to set the record straight among my literally tens of associates, I will take full credit.

Trenton and Heath did a bang up job, very happy with the work and price. And yes I will shop for laces.

Thanks. Like the blue shell, they arrive pretty dark from AE but lighten with wear and brushing.

Continuing with casual shoes because it looks like I'll be working at home until next Fall. But at least I'm working, and I'm grateful for that.



Still holding out hope that this Saphir product will successfully remove the cooking oil in my Higgins. I'm pretty sad about this because I just bought them in December. Because the oil stain was 3 weeks old by the time the product arrived, it might be too late. We shall see. Every one of you should have some of this oil remover stuff around at your home. I can almost guarantee this will happen to everyone on here at some point -- learn from my mistake!
