I wasn’t sure what I was going to find underneath all the excess polish, wax and grime. I started with a good conditioning of Neatsfoot and Bick 4 followed by a stripping with acetone to restore the walnut color. Next a shoetree wrapped in damp paper towel to tighten up the vamp as it dries. Finally repeated neutral wax buff/brushing followed by Saphir Cognac cream on the captoeSomeone certainly took care of them before letting them go!
I think there's a certain truth to that about every kind of outfit. You have to feel natural and at ease or the outfit ends up wearing you.
That's probably one of the best angles to take with this. There's got to be a way to calculate the average energy spent creating a GYW shoe vs a Cole Haan, then doing a lifecycle analysis like they do for plastic bag alternatives. Market AEs as green products.
Was this just a good condition and polish?
