Was about to step out of an elevator this morning when some young woman started marching in. There were several of us in the elevator and I politely told her, "you should wait for people to exit before entering." Is it just me, or is there a serious lack of public etiquette / public manners these days?

Anyway, it's a beautiful day out here with rare clean air. Walton for today.

Obviously she was not that hot. If she was, you would have punched the button for her floor and got her there safely. Says Mrs. Shoenut.

Anyone a 10.5D and interested in the new brown nubuck Strandmok? I got a deal on these and would rather pass on a deal than return them. A little long for me. Only tried on at home on carpet

if no interest, I might return in a few days. Or just wear thicker socks and deal

HM’s got Mall duty. My wife knows I hate going to another country just to hit a mall. 4 scoops of Gelato was only $2.49. Yet some grape juice mixed with water is $1.25. Go figure.

Maiden-ish voyage today. The nubuck is very soft, the commando sole is significantly more comfortable than dainite while giving more confidence on ice and sub par conditions. Had to go 10.5D instead of 11B on my Higgins Mill.

The boots are not MiUSA and have some fairly rough finishing around the boot. They are not an elegant Chelsea yet not a rugged lace up so they sit in a bit of unchartered territory.

My intention was to have a boot I could throw on, drudge through snow and ice, remain reasonably stylish and likely walk to work most days over the winter before changing into shoes at work.

At $200 USD for seconds I think it is nearly unparalleled value. Thanks to AE thread with recommendations in early October, including members that have various versions of the Surrey’s. These will be a part of my winter kit for years.

Happy throwback Thursday forum pals. Although non AE, vintage Florsheim is always a throwback with their classic 93602 lwb, hand stained brown and made of cashmere calf. I highly recommend a pair if you find them on eBay. Probably the best made shoe in my collection.
