Alden for BB LHS in shell cordovan: fit question

Hello everyone,

this is my first post after lurking quite some time. So, I got a pair of unlined LHS by Alden for BB recently. I enjoy wearing them and they are comfortable: shoe opening is not too large, my ball is at the widest point of the shoe, my toes come to an end before under the moc stitching, the heel does not slip but does not pinch either - wonderful.

I am, nevertheless, concerned about the fit of the shoes. As you can see in the pics, there is a case of pinky toe bulge on both my feet. Do you think this is acceptable? I frequently have this in shoes and believe this is due to having a weirdly twisted pinkie toe whose bone bends in lateral direction. I wonder if going wider in the shoe would not ruin all other paramaters of fit which are great. How do you see this? How do you fit the van last in general? Would you have gone wider?

Cheers!

I don't know that I would go wider. But all I could say is try them on and see. You might be exactly right that you would give up all the other great ways they fit. Obviously you want loafers a little snug anyway so they give after wearing them so I think that's what you're looking at.
