I need advice on a buying a pair of brown suede or leather chukkas. I don't want to spend more than $200. I thought the CT's @ 50% seemed like a good deal. I also like the Shipton & Heneage Castleton but they are $259. Any other suggestions are appreciated on what to buy and where to buy them at a good price.

Thanks.

Depending on your size, Land's End is closing out some Alfred Sargent suede chukkas for $143. They would probably be be better made than your other choices. That said, I own the CT's (I bought them during their sale earlier this year for $87 and at that price they are a good value) and I really like them.

I think only size 13 is available now. But Land's end now does have the suede chelsea available in a lot of sizes....

I've heard, wrt to the CT boots, that if buying from the US site, it is recommended to drop a half size from the US size. Apparently CT uses the 1/2 drop conversion (i.e., the shoes on the site which is a 10 US is actually a 9.5 UK), and most people find that a full size drop is a better fit.

STP has some Michael Toschi chocolate wingtip cukkas in a number of sizes. They're very different from a traditional desert boot/chukka. They're listed for $225, but with there are some 20% coupon codes floating about (and 15% from the form affiliate link) and the $10 Google coupon, they're well within you budget.
