Hi all, I just recently found this forum - thanks for the fantastic resource.

I'm looking for what should be easy to find, but isn't as common as I thought - a simple, casual white cotton shirt with a collar. One that's built like a dress shirt, but more casual... I don't even know what to call it, or what to search for (though I've tried).

Something along the lines of what Daniel Craig is wearing here. Any ideas where to look and buy? I'm a PhD student, so price is important.

Thanks for the welcome!

As in, it has a collar like a dress shirt, but a casual sort - there's no fusing or sewn-in lining here. See the photo above.

I've heard similar shirts called a host of different things: collared shirt, button-up, button-down (shudder), button front, etc. I'm not sure what to call it, so we can stick with casual dress shirt with a collar until a better candidate presents itself.

Where to find a quality, reasonably priced version of the above?

I bought a custom fit shirt like that from the Polo outlet this past summer and it's awesome. They had them in long & short sleeved, full linen or a linen & silk blend. There should still be some kicking around on ebay.
