My watch (1970s Omega Chronometer) has date and day of week functions. After the leap year, they got out of sync. They now read Friday the 7th. Do I have to take this to a jeweler to reset?

Thanks!

I don't have an Omega ... but I use an IWC Fliegerchronograph. On my particular watch there is a stem position that allows one to change the date (rotating it in one direction) and the day (rotating it in the other direction). Perhaps you have similar features. If you have your user's manuel surely it will tell.

BTW, at least with my watch, this procedure of changing date and day should not be accomplished between 9 PM and 2 AM as it can damage the mechanism.

Also, with most watches that have date features, you should not wind the hands backward through a change of date.
