    James,

The project is moving slowly as we are busy nonstop with making ties and pocket squares.

I may decide to buy rather than grow some madder root at first to speed things up.

The overall idea is to go back to natural dyes as they have a beautiful look.

Last week I spoke with a friend who is working on a cotton with natural dye bicycle bag and there is a small but enthusiastic demand for natural dyes.

At the moment i am working on a photo gallery for our ties but we can certainly add photos of the process for making madder dye when we are ready.

Currently we have a workshop in the Bangkok and a farm in the countryside. The farm is 5 hours away which is too far for me to spend time there now and our workshop is not setup for dyeing and weaving. Maybe a larger workshop in the suburbs is the answer?

    Thank you for your encouragement!

    Thanks for the update, David.

Moving slowly is fine by me- there's no reason to rush in, when one might find one needs to rush back out again.

I'd imagine dyeing would be a whole other trade to learn; surely it'd be a labor of love rather than a money maker.
I wonder if that small but enthusiastic demand extends to ties and pocket squares. The circle may be very small there.

But then, maybe your family or friends have some experience in it. Who knows what is possible, given time.

Yes, exactly. If well done, of course, thats always true. Plus, one can actually name the dyes, and the plants that gave rise to them. Good stuff.

Ha! What construction did you request? 50 oz silk is pretty weighty, no? I usually have the lighter silks made-up as 6-folds, but wonder if 3-fold might be okay for the Madders??

What's the proper context for those paisley madder ties? Tweed jacket and cords? Or do you wear them with a suit?
