So does that mean you are really all the same kindred spirit, just at different stages in life?

Very strange...

Like people going on the show "Embarassing illnesses " showing their asses to millions of people after stating they were too embarassed to see a doctor in the first place...

After reading an article about style forum that mentions manton several times and also includes a picture of him, I beg to wonder the same thing.

Your "Frenchies" do not sound like the names that stood bravely
on the Marne in 1914.

No, they sound like the names of those whose countries were 'colonized' by those with the names that stood bravely on the Marne.

Do not forget either that many of those whose countries were colonised by those with the names etc...were also sent to fight and die in the trenches for a cause that must have seemed at best very peripheral to their own interests and aspirations.

It's asinine to think of France as a monolithic country with regards to origin or ethnicity. There has been massive waves of immigration throughout the 20th century - particularly since WW2. It would be like making a joke about the names and skin color of NFL players - ooh how come these guys are not all called Peter Smith and don't they look a bit tanned for some "New England" "Patriots"...LOLz... no

L to R: QE2->German/Scottish, FrenchyPM->Hungarian/Greek, Hottie->Italian/Brazilian (not that Brazilian narrows things down), Harrumpher->Greek/Danish.

Overall, in this group of four: very little Anglo-Saxon or French blood, unless we look past to the Beefeaters.
