I've thought about getting a pair of pants like this for a while for summer. I just can't decide if I'd really get that much wear out of them. They seem like they'd be good for weekending and other times when jeans are just too hot (not to mention traveling). Also, besides my Chucks, what kind of shoes could I wear with these, flip flops or drivers?

I have the shorts version from last year, and they're not so bad. But I want something that fits bigger. It's a pretty popular look on the West Coast, low-slung, relaxed fit cargos/drawstring pants, fitted tshirt, low profile sneakers. The shorts just happen to be very comfortable.

all sales final? there's no way in hell I would buy any Jcrew without the option of returning it.

yeah, clearance items are final. that's why they're cheap - as "consideration" for the lower price, you negotiated away the right to return.

they would go for more on ebay, i think.

also, they might be cheaper in an actual B&M store - mine was running an extra 25% discount on top of these prices (online and B&M appear to use the same pricing structure, but not the same discount on top of the total order).

I think cargos had gotten kind of a bad rap because they were worn all wrong: in place of chinos as a semi-dress item. I, however, would never pair them with nice shoes or a shirt with a collar (besides like a wrinkled white linen or cotton shirt, untucked).

I really really hate cargos. Just add flip flops and you have the making of an amjack by day.

Kind of a narrow view, don't you think?

I decided to give them a try. At $21 including tax and free shipping I figured I'll wear them enough during the summer to make it worth it. Sometimes comfort is just the most important (like on long plane/car rides, etc).

+1

Anything relaxed fit from JCREW is ridiculously loose. I have some shorts that I feel like I'm swimming in whenever I wear them
