I needed a tailored suit for a job interview this coming Monday. I've been trying to get a new suit for a while, but attempts at higher quality suits in the ~$500-$700 range (Suit Supply, eHaberdasher, Oliver Wicks, etc.) hadn't worked out for fit reasons. I decided to head over to a local suit shop as I'm in a tight spot to get something quick and figured they were better than heading to MW, JAB, or a department store. The suit I got seemed OK (not crazy about it though) and is 100% wool, but I was charged $500 (over $600 with tailoring and taxes).
Most of what I've seen is in the ~$200 range, with really higher end far above that, but I haven't seen much in between. Are there Ralph Lauren lines that are even worth this much, or is this just likely a crazy 200+% mark-up from a cheap line?

Hey greggerspa, thanks for the link to that thread, I hadn't come across that. I'm unsure of what line the suit I got belongs to - I'll be sure to post a picture of the label once I pick it up from tailoring.

After picking up the suit, it really wasn't tailored well at all either. And I'm pretty sure I paid more than double what the suit retails for elsewhere. Can anyone confirm based on these tags?
