Hi!
I am new to StyleForum.
I would like to commission a sportcoat in linen or wool for use in Spring and Fall, but also for the occasional summer evening.
I only like heavy, strong, hardwearing fabrics.
The Anthology will be making the jacket.
My two top favorite cloths are:
1) 500gm light taupe Fox Brothers linen
2) 460gm camel 4-ply knitted wool by an undisclosed mill sourced by The Anthology
Any thoughts/recommendations? (Also open to suggestions for other cloths I am not considering).

A knitted wool jacket is a very different thing from wovens in my experience, it feels much more like knitwear perhaps unsurprisingly. In my opinion it is best left for jacket substitutes, like anthology's lazyman jacket.

Thank you for your advice! Very precious actually, as I’ll definitely not choose the knitted wool now. Any other recommendations other than heavy linen? They told me this Fox hopsack linen will feel stiff and thick and gradually mold to the body, and I actually like that. Hardwearing ‘work’ cloths that can take a beat are my favorite. But if you have something else in mind that wouldn’t be good strictly for winter, let me know :)
