I used to love staying really late, coming in at the crack of dawn and then when I would mention that some others may not have been pulling their weight I would get, "well, we have higher expectations of you and that comes with greater responsibilty" Really? Sounds awesome!!!!

It's Friday 7:56pm and this major project just came up for Monday morning. Only you can pull it off... we know you'll carry this through and do a great job (don't tell your colleagues we trust you more)

There's nothing that can't be done between the hours of 9-5 that can't wait 'till tomorrow is how I roll.

That's how my client rolls. Since I'm doing support at the moment, this applies to me as well! A very nice change of pace for consulting.

thats good. you can tell someone really likes work when they get all geeked out over it. like the obsessive way bicycle shop guys get or vinyl record store workers. i get jealous over that kind of geeky obsessiveness sometimes - but then again those guys may have mild forms of autism.

I am happy that stage of my career is (mostly) done. Old men just can't do those hours and still manage to have a social life like you kids do.

I think I'm mostly past it anyway.

I dont understand how one can afford bespoke in NYC on an associate's salary. I mean I KNOW exactly how much you make.

This thread makes me appreciate "fitness for duty" and "fatigued worker policy". Nothing like working with stuff that can kill.

You see these guys who keep a full rotation of shirts @ the office and a razor in the top drawer of their desk - this doesn't bode well for the AM washing/drying/ironing routine....
