They still haven't changed the ugly headlight shape, and the rear is now more reminiscent of a BMW. Plus some new 'sporty' creases.... I don't like it.

Overall I do like the shape/styling, but as the above posters already pointed out, the new diode headlight shape looks off and the rear looks pretty much like a BMW 3-series Coupe.

Family DNA is fine, but after 40 years, they can start changing the basic design. I really, really hope that the B8 A4 has rear windows that go down all the way.

As an owner of a B7 A4, its one of the things that irritates me the most about the car.

I prefer the old design. To me, newer Audis, VWs, and low-to-mid range BMW's don't look all that different from Accords.

Theres a guy in my hometown that still drives it. I think it looks timeless.

I dig the new interior. Its more driver oriented.

I agree that the overall styling is a bit BMW'ish, but its more BMW'ish than an actual BMW these days. I prefer this direction to the current BMW direction.

Plus, the EU 2008 1.8T A4 is only 3100 pounds, so it's bound to drive better than the preceeding 3400 pound porker. It remains to be seen what the US market will receive (probably the 2.0T engine, for starters, and possibly more safety equipment), but there will still be a significant weight savings.

Yep, Ro80, with the Wankel rotary engine. Lovely car, but killed the marque.

Plus, you'll always have service and reliability issues if you get an Audi instead of a Toyota or Honda....

Indeed, within 1 ½ years of ownership and only 14K miles, from a car which I broke-in for the first 1000 miles, garaged everyday, at work, school and home and I cleaned almost religiously, both inside and out, the car has had the following:

Engine was running rich
Stereo system completely head unit crapped out, entire new head unit was replaced
Center consol started pealing, new center consol needed to be installed
Front tires need to be replaced (even though they were rotated 3 times)
2 tires had flats
And apparently my brake pads are at 5 mm, both front AND rear! (I have 17K on the odometer at the moment)

Next time I’m getting either a BMW or a Mini, at least they will cover the damn brake pads!

I'm surprised to hear about the center console, especially so early in ownership. I always thought Audi was well known for the quality and detail of their interiors.

With 1 year and 11000 miles on the clock, zero problems for this Audi owner. Maybe everything will happen in the next 3000 miles?
