I bought a brooks suit and i never noticed till now that the where the button hole is on the top button there is a rounded part the juts out a little bit. Does anyone know why this is? What its for and if its supposed to be there? If no one knows what i'm talkinga bout i'll try to get a pic up tommaorw.

It's sometimes called a "belly." It is simpy part of the shape of the lapel. Not all suits have this, but some do. Most have some outward curve that you'd notice if you flipped the lapels over.
