You've probably noticed by now that the site redesign has gone live. We've changed quite a few things, and as always, we will need to iron out a few things here and there.

We've changed 'Men's Clothing' (which was always sort of a 'duh' and vague forum title) to 'Classic Menswear' which we think more accurately describes the subject matter.

Other than that, I will quote from the 'preview' announcement:

1) a khaki and black color scheme which is more attractive easier on the eyes;
2) Special fonts that add to the character of the forum with a Verdana body font and fewer font sizes, making hours and hours of reading and posting easier and more enjoyable
3) a more intuitive top navigation bar.

Everything was done with the user experience in mind.

Oh, and we even included a "classic view", configurable from your account settings, if you feel nostalgic for the "Sparta!" colors.

To switch to the 'classic view':

Click your name in the upper right corner, and then click "Account Details".

From there, scroll down to the bottom and find the dropdown entitled "Visual Preferences". Select "Styleforum Blue", click save, and you're off to the races.

We hope you enjoy the new look. (et apres cette poste, le deluge.)

J.

in the future, would it be possible to have an option for a darker background and lighter font?

cool

great to see that thumb comments are back, too!

Are you trollin? Cuz I don't have thumb commenting powers :(
lol@ all the likes that c4 is going to get as people try to test the thumb-comment out

Going to reserve judgement on the color but does seem a little too bright.

I suppose it looks more "modern" but it's also too bland in the sense that the contrast seems too low (at least on my monitor), and everything blends into everything else. Before the change it was easier to see where one post ended and the next one began.

Hah @ anyone who thumbed tween's post trying to comment

The contrast is definitely lower in places, and we will probably make some adjustments soon. I think some of the text is too light as well.

The template looks great but I agree with the color contrast. Kind of hard to tell where some posts/threads start and end.

Instead of a light gray/blue line between posts, you might want to separate them with a dark burgundy line --- it will compliment you new site design better

The banner picture for SW&D seems a bit incongruent - more "classic menswear" than "SW&D". Split frame with #menswear / fashunz / drapey? That probably looks too busy... same with slideshow.
