I enjoy knit and grenadine ties, with white shirts and navy blazers and would like to add a burgundy. Many “burgundys” are too red for my liking (Chipp). Kent wang has two options, a standard and a bi-color burgundy red mix. There burgundy soils looks super dark - maybe too muted?

Solid burgundy knit

I’d appreciate if anyone has any photos or experience with either. Other thoughts are welcome too.

I also like burgundy and maroon ties and find crimson ties harder to wear well. (They can look quite good. But they can easily overwhelm the ensemble. I now tend to wear them only with lighter-colored jackets in sunny weather.)

I don't have any of the ties you mention; but I do have a KW grenadine burgundy. It does look about the same as what I see on its KW page on my monitor. Mine's a touch more maroon than what I see on the webpage. Has more of maroon's brownishness. Then again, my tie was from 2011.

My tie is lighter than what I see on the monitor for the KW knit burgundy. That one does look dark enough that you could get away with wearing it to a funeral. Could be useful if you don't already have a really dark wine/burgundy/maroon in the rotation. But I agree that something a bit lighter, like the burg grenadine, would be more versatile. (Since the knit brown, purple, and navy also look quite dark on my monitor, I suspect they might actually be a bit lighter IRL. You could e-mail and ask for another photo.)

Compared to what I see on the red/burgundy knit, my burg grenadine's a bit darker and less red while more wine/maroon. I would wear the red/burg knit as it looks in the webpage's fit photo. But probably only on sunny days with a jacket that's lighter-colored than the one in that photo.

I have a KW burgundy knit tie. I’d say that it’s not as dark IRL as on their website. Hard to capture but I’d say it’s a true burgundy.
