wow, that is great....My shoes, about 20 pairs, are kept in the basement on the floor. I don't have enough room in any closet at this time because I have a family and they take up all of the space. I need to step it up and get something like this.
Totally agree with you man!

I'm not as impressive as some on here with custom racks, etc. - I am impressed!
I keep my shoes in their original boxes - I can stack them 5 high on the top shelf in my closet. I figure if the stores can keep a lot of inventory stacked in the boxes, I can do the same in my closet. And it keeps dust off them.
Chris

I know right, I wish I was great at carpentry/wood designing, your idea is pretty good, keeping dust off them, I might try it for now and see if I can get racks or cabinet for it!

Simple and effective, if not somewhat controversial (people are afraid of plastics). When I take off my shoes, they go overhead on a shelf to air out and I put them away the next morning. For shoes without shoe horns, the box has a cedar block. Although not visible, each container has a vent cut out on each side near the lid, but I'm not sure if it's necessary.

Nice, are the containers pretty expensive? Do they smell after airing?

Welcome to Styleforum laughtr. I have the same problem.

I would love to see how Aportnoy organizes his shoes, which I understand exceeds 2,000 pairs.
At a paltry 160 pairs (not all are shown), I am at the limits of space over here.
Holy crap! I clicked the warning signs and BAM bunch of shoes! I'm guessing Aportnoy is a member in the StyleForum. This guy must be a baller! I wonder how he does organize his shoes. This guy probably has a closet of shoes! Love the pictures!

Man...this thread really delivers.

I have searched the SF archives many times and found lots of "wtf do you do with your shoes" threads but none of them actually have pictures like this. There are always a few super fancy shoe cabinets that I don't have space for and people who use plastic racks--but now I am seeing some actually legit shoe storage solutions.

I've got a set of 3 woodlore? racks coming from the last JAB buy one get two free sale....but those are to clean up the casual shoes that live by my front door. Dress shoes still live in a hanging canvas shoe shelf thing with dress boots sitting on the floor :-/

Well I live in the basement with my parents, moving out soon to college! but shoes are just outside my room to right on the ground, and siblings are always messing around, i keep tripping over them at night when everybody is sleeping! Just don't know where to put them! Basement is all concrete basically, unfinished!

I know, I'm glad people are really cooperating with each other, do you mind taking pictures of your shoes?
