Trading World of Warcraft account for Rifle

Date: 2007-08-10, 12:54AM CDT

Looking to trade/sell a World of Warcraft account with level 70 undead mage, epic mount, flying mount, 1k gold. Mage has full spellfire set. Wanting a .308 or .223 bolt action rifle in good condition (NIB or close to, if gun is normally MSRP of $400 or less. Normal price for an account similar to this is roughly $600 (check out www.accounts.net for comparison).

Must be in driving range from mis-missouri or willing to ship rifle to a local FFL dealer. Willing to allow the FFL dealer to hold firearm, in possession, until i call you with account details, to prevent either of us from being scammed.

A girl associated with my guild back in eq flew around the states ********** with members in exchange for high level gear, which was always very hard to come by in eq. Back in the early days you could raid for months and not get an item you wanted.

I have absolutely no idea what this means (except the flying around ********** in exchange for 'gear') - is this a fantasy game thing?

Was this gear, as hard to come by as girls, in the game?

I can't comment on the account price, but for $400 he isn't going to get much of a new bolt gun.

Items (loot) dropped by high level monsters (typically dragons or gods) in a game within a persistant world (when you quit for the night your character/gear doesn't disappear). EQ spawns were highly contested, meaning that if you killed a certain dragon it might not respawn (reappear in the world) for a week. The dragon required a raid (large number of people, usually 4 or more groups of 6 people) to kill. So even when your guild got to it first, it would typically only drop a couple of items, which in the early days before DKP you then had to roll on (throwing dice for the highest number). So the chances of getting any particular highly contested item was very low. You could raid for months and not get what you wanted/needed. This scarcity made items very valuable and worth a lot of money on ebay.

In my prime I used to make tens of thousands playing these games. Item farming has turned in to an industry dominated by the chinese now so it's not really worth it in terms of the time you have to invest anymore (hasn't been for years actually).
