I don't like it when people use the word "word" when speaking to me.

Example.

Me: Hey I just had a nice steak for lunch.
Person: Word

I don't know. How the hell am I supposed to respond to that? Give him the fist bumping hand shake? I don't do that.


I also don't like the F word. People use it too much and it loses its power. A nice **** you just wouldn't be the same if everyone was used to hearing it.

Heh. Tim Ferriss does that all the time. Check out some of his interviews, it's hilarious. I can't stand the use of the word "status." Like when girls say another girl is "model status." I heard Rob Dyrdek use that on Rob & Big when he stubbed his toe, and in pain was saying "Oh man...surgery status!" "Balla" is another one that will always piss me off, along with "Bella" used by myspacers when leaving comments on some hot bitches pic. "You're so bella, mami." "Playa" is annoying as ****. But mostly when white boys use it. Come to think of it, when most white people use typically "black" slang, I feel a slight twinge of anger. But I probably should be attending anger management anyway, so...it might be just me. "Hater." "You're just a hater." Oh christ almighty, shut the **** up. "Sessy" is another one. I'm getting old and cranky.

And the word "Wack" when describing something they don't like.

Anyone here dislike it when people use the phrase "off the hook"? Whats off the hook? How did it get there? And what does it being off the hook have to do with you liking it?

A variation of that is "off the chain". I'm not sure where this came from.
