I am totally Addicted to Fine Vintage Shoes. The art of Hand stitching and Hand welting shoes is almost lost today. Aside from a very select few (and MEGA-EXPENSIVE) makers, we are living in a world of Machine Made footwear. The same cookie cutter styles are reproduced and sold at insane prices... and mass sales is the only goal for shoemakers today.
Welcome to my Time Machine back to the BEST of times for Handcrafted shoes. The leather quality was superior, the styles exciting and unique, and (BEST OF ALL), real quality shoes were to be had at a price that men could afford.
This thread is dedicated to ALLIGATOR & CROCODILE shoes. The American Alligator skins from the 1940's thru the 1970's was the nicest reptile in the world. Before the time of mass farming, the scales were just so beautiful and bold... displaying a depth of colors that is now only seen in Crocodile shoes that cost several thousands of dollars to start (usually over $5k)!
Shoe trees are available at a small additional cost .
All shipping is USPS Priority Mail, signed for, and insured over $300.00.
Shipping cost to the U.S. is $15.00. International cost is $45.00
Any questions or additional pictures (I have a TON), please just let me know.
French Shriner NOS (unworn) Alligator & Calfskin Norwegian Spectators
This is an example of the elegance of the Norwegian (Split Toe) shoe when done just right. Of course, it is a French Shriner, so it is not surprising to see such an offering. American Alligator & Calfskin make a fabulous combination.
Marked a size US 9C, they fit a size 8.5 C excellently.
They measure approximately 11 1/2 inches long x 4 1/16 inches wide (at the forefoot).
Price is $249.00.
