^ Have you tried the f-last?

I think that boot in the f last would be pretty awesome looking. If only I could figure out what size I would wear in vass.

Can anyone tell how true to size the F-last fits? I thought, as a size 10US, I would be a 43, but Budapester is reconmending a 9.5UK.
Just so this isn't a totally worthless post, here is the Vass catalog as a .pdf http://www.pdf-archive.com/2012/02/16/vass-katalog-english-neu/
(Couldn't host on styleforum, sorry)

I wear a 11.5 E US, and got a 45 in F last in wide cut, fit is as close as I can expect for a MTO.

I was not able to see the catalogue and am not familiar with UK sizing, but do know Vass sizes are in european.

I see. Following your ratio between G&G and Vass U-last my UK8 in G&G should be comparable to 42 in Vass U-last. Thanks!

Anyone else having some experience in the area?

lt depend on foot shape.
Could be between 41.5 and 42.

Some say to size up with U last .5 and other say to size up 1,
some say to size up .5 with F last and other say to buy true to size.
Problem with sizing up is the shoe can become very long for some man.

Me have G&G TG73 and C&J 348 and Vass F last.

No man can give you good advice on sizing online.
Try to fly to budapest or be prepared for the Vass not to fit so you not disappointed.

Some pics of my Vass whiskey shell ptbs after about two years (worn fairly sparingly):

The shell look very rough.
Some of me Vass have very nice shell leather and others have very very rough leather.
Some Vass shell shoe are impossible to shine

This
and this. Just perfect.
makes me happy that i have a pair of whiskey shells on the way. Slightly different configuration but it should work out well

After a day of wear the knuckles of my two big toes plus a few in the middle are bloodied. Ive worn about a dozen times and it hasn't gotten any better. Should I keep trying?

By looking at creasing it look very long shoe on your foot.
ls the shoe flexing on the toes?
Many man here say to size up for certain last or size down,
but it very silly talk,
it better to accept that some last don't fit and buy a last which does fit.
A shoe on un suitable last can not be made to fit.

Here is general talk.
Some man say to size down .5 and increase width by 1.
No no NO!
Some man say to size up .5 and decrease width by .5,
no no NO!
"A shoe on un suitable last can not be made to fit"

lt depends.
Some can wear the F last true to size and other client need to size up .5
Shoe sizing is complex,
no definite answer,
that why many people have problem with sizing,
they simplify it to much.
Buy online and risk getting wrong size shoe or go to a Vass store,
no other option.
Could ask Vass for trial shoe or go to Hamos Gabor and ask for trial shoe and send back later.
