Sorry that I'm a little late to this, but the main difference between the two imo is the red in the selvedge. The similarity you point to is undeniable. But the red is more attention-getting if not also attention-seeking. If the selvedge was a thin white line, or maybe white and matching blue, I think it'd be fine. Just my opinion though, and not a very strong one. So I wouldn't buy it, but I might wear it.

That reminds me of those Girbaud jeans that were popular in the early 90s. The ones that had a red stripe (the brand's label) right at the crotch.

There was a swap market back then that had a booth, where you could bring your regular jeans and they'd sew fake Girbaud labels on (again, right at the crotch). I remember a friend of mine in junior high was super excited about this fact.

^Wow. We couldn't wear jeans at my school, but Girbaud cotton pants were really popular. They had that label at the crotch, a one inch side panel down the side, and a belt keeper loop, iirc. I saved up and bought a couple pairs right when they were going out of style.

Is that a picture of your "friend" in that pic? ;)

man, I used to rock Girbaud's so hard. And Z. Cavaraci jeans. Le Tigre shirts and the all white Reebok's that are called classics now. Shoes were Zodiacs, which were kinds like the 80's Yuketen's, they were typically 3 colors. I thought I was such a boss.

I wore my share of multi-striped Girbaud jorts and coordinating color-block, short sleeve hoodies. Don't remember much chambray in the collection; good amount of poly in the mesh on the hoodies though.

Wait - so how many chambrays (not voiles) did Will sell? I thought there was only one...

At any rate, mine has poly but I'm 99% sure was described as 100% cotton.

If someone wants to analyze the voile, I'll mail you mine - I don't think I'm going to have it made up.

I'm so turned off by the chambray (I hated it before :foo: started burning cloth) that I don't think I'll bother.

There are more nice shirtings out there than I have money to make up.

Canta, maybe you should cut it up into 2" squares and send one to everyone who participated in the thread. Like a souvenir.
