Oh wow, that must have been tough for you...

We had 110" this year
smile.gif

I moved here from central northern MA (Fitchburg) , right in the snow belt so I feel you. My last year Boston would get 3" we would get 15"... One of the reasons I moved, I hate snow. My first year in MA was 1995, moved to Martha's Vineyard where my wife was from. She said it never really snows on the Vineyard, and as you know that was the highest amount of snow in history (until you guys beat it last winter). For 20 years I have been telling her it is unnatural to stay somewhere on purpose where 60% of the year you are miserable. Here in Southern TN we have 2 months where it is miserable, just so freaking hot you only want to sit inside or in the shade drinking beer... Oh wait, that is not a bad thing that is awesome

Actually winters here in Dallas have some nice cool weather. The summers on the other hand are long and brutal. Usually one good snow a year (You all will remember the SuperBowl snows a few years back.)

Now when I lived in Miami we barely got below the fifties and even that was for a small period.

I did grow up in NY though (actually not far from SPOO) and remember fondly the fall and early winter months and the clothes that go with it. Down here we push a little but can only layer here and there. Heavy sweaters and coats are just for a few times a year and mostly sit unused in our closets.
On the plus side, I had just started thrifting last fall when the goodwills were full of sweaters of coats and I am looking forward to really cleaning up this fall. Hopefully picking up lots of great winter stuff people who moved down from up North have donated to clear their closets to make room for more short sleeves and shorts.

Up here in Japan?, we have Russia on one side, and the Bering sea on the other side. we are pretty much connected to Russia with Ice in winter.waking up to 5ft of snow is not unusual.

Summer is tropical as ****. with Typhoons weekly. and currently having rain 5 days a week. 80 degrees at 2am. and humid.

i just want the nice weather to come back. so i can wear a tweed and jeans daily.

I mean while it's cold outside, they keep it hot as F in the hospital, so I have to dress accordingly; wearing polos in the winter is common haha

Maybe we have different erasers here,I have even used it on silk ties!!!
The jacket i used mine on was nappa leather and its fine to this day.
Just so we are talking about the same thing, these erasers are dry right.
Anyway use at own risk, but I would take that canali to the pros.I mean that's what a 2500$ jacket?

Yo, has the idea of a group chat via skype ever crossed this thread? To schedule a video conference like once a week to show off our picks?

I don't think so, but there are a few of us who are friends on Facebook and chat occasionally in real time there.

I think that'd be awesome, if anyone is interested, let me know.

....Went in wearing a ball cap (had not showered yet that day and it was rainy & windy so hair was a mess), and sunglasses (Rx and lightly tinted).  In short, was told I would have to remove my cap and glasses if I wanted to shop there....

My guess is that it was less about the style and more about security. My bank has a sign on the door that says to remove hats and sunglasses before entry. They want a nice view for the security camera.

Not much in the line of clothes lately, but have been finding a lot of good cds, including:

DJ Shadow - ...Endtroducing
English Beat - I Just Can't Stop It
Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Mature Themes
Back To Mine - Mercury Rev
Gun Club - Fire of Love
Bone Thugz - best of

and, uh, the best of Motley Crue. :slayer:

Whenever I'm doing an all-day thrift-a-thon, I try to thrift music for that day. That CD haul is my dream but I usually end up with like some terrible pop-punk or ska thing I vaguely remember from 1997.
