Jun was at carpe, then founded wjk, then left wjk to found his own label junhashimoto to do something "less ponderous" (jun's collections are very sporty and colorful)

Also, recently the designer of wjk left to found Vadel.

To say Jun was at Carpe implies more credit than he's probably worth. Especially compared to the likes of Luca, Marvie, and Amadei.

I do believe he was involved with the brand N4 as well - which he has also left.

Saying he worked at Carpe doesn't imply anything other than he worked at Carpe. No conflation. I don't know his exact role there, but I do know he was given permission to recreate some Carpe designs.

Did not know about his involvement in N4.

Carpe Diem on the ol' resume carries a lot of weight. Practically everyone who so much as farted in the showroom tries to get their affiliation in. If you don't think mentioning it has implications, you're dreaming.

In other news, Vadel is available at Vektrize. Like m.a+ light at 50% of the price.

Those Vadel sidezips are perfect. Too bad they only go to 43.

man those vadels are the least subtle cdiem copies ive seen in a while, right down to the silver medal on the sole too.
i would get jun/wjk purely out of sentimentality

jun is also a very influential designer recently, one cannot doubt that he has drawn (and contributed to) a lot from his previous experiences...he has some great pieces

They're lovely shoes, but that shape doesn't lie.

Yeah not the same top is more rounded higher toe where as the bottom starts out wide and narrows in more like a trapezoid shape.

I followed him as well using TTS, but I had to return them as the boots turned out to be too wide for my feet. They (wjk s43m clones) were just a bit big in terms of width and length so it gave off a kind of clown-feet-ish impression. I have a sneaking suspicion that they're not exact clones and wjk expanded the width a bit for their iteration, but as I've never compared the two side by side this is probably just baseless conjecture.

For reference, I'm a TTS EU41/US8 in sneakers, but I'm pretty sure I needed a 40 in wjk boots instead.
Unfortunately, they don't make em in that size so I'm still on the lookout for a pair of sleek, structured laceups.
