To my mind you will never get the perfect balance between waterproof and breathable. You should maybe try something ventile which will not offer you the same waterproof capabilities as gore or other membranes but is much more breathable. At some point you will need to decide on if waterproof or breathable is more important to you and choose accordingly. So my rain jacket finally fell apart on me yesterday, and I need to get something new for this crazy weather! I live in Hawaii, so breathability is a huge concern. When it rains here, it really rains - it'll be 85 degrees out and sunny but dumping rain and flooding at the same time. I have had difficulty balancing waterproofness and breathability, and I haven't found anything that strikes the right balance.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'd also like something that looks good and lasts for a while, and I'm not gonna be doing any outdoor sports in it, just some light field work, and a lot of walking/hiking. I'm gonna spend today reading through the thread, but any help in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Would you care to share more ? Am deep in both Veilance & Stone Island and looking to add for spring/summer...........random fashion thought/technical outerwear. For the most part I like wearing SISP & Veilance in fall winter, but for the summer i prefer nanamica.
