Hi Guys,

I am a relative newbie to styleforum (have been creeping for months, only just made an account) and I have not been able to find a comprehensive guide to OTR suit shopping in London.

My main issues is when anyone ever talks about suits in London it is all about bespoke from SR for £3,000+. I do not have any bespoke suits so I really can't say from experience, but generally I am able to find a suit that fits quite well OTR. I have a few MTM suits and they fit no better than my OTR suits (with a few minor alterations).

Long story short, I am keen to purchase an OTR suit and am hoping to spent under £1,000. I am happy to spend more if the quality is there, but I cannot see much benefit jumping into bespoke when OTR seem to get the job done. I want a classic english suit (as I don't have any, being one of the millions of foreigners now living here) and some of the Richard James suits appealed to me, but the general feedback on here is they aren't worth the hype.

Last point, I always see posts where people say don't bother buying (insert suit) when you could get a Canali (or another designer suit) on sale for about that. I want to know where these people are constantly finding designer suits on sale, I have done a fair amount of exhaustive research and I can rarely find any designer suit sales.

Cheers for any help or insight.
