I have a pair of Uniqlo slim fit stretch selvedge jeans. Generally I have been pleased with them, but I have started thinking about what I might buy when it's time for an upgrade.

Things about the Uniqlo jeans I dislike:
  • The cut. When I bought them they only had slim fit available. I have large thighs in comparison to my waist size, so would have been better off getting regular fit and then getting the calves tapered by my alterations tailor if necessary. Regular fit are currently available on the website.
  • The rise. I am slowly moving towards higher rises in both my casual and formal trousers. Not super high, but a little higher than the jeans I already have.
  • The fly. I would prefer a button fly, but this isn't a deal breaker.
So what's the next step up in terms of quality and price?

I am in the UK. Uniqlo retail at £34.90 here, so something like Blackhorse Lane (£185-260) is too big a leap, although maybe I'll make it there one day. I'm looking at sub-£100 options. If there's nothing to beat Uniqlo at that price point then I'll probably just spring for another pair of theirs but in the regular cut.

I’m not sure what’s offered in the UK and may be better known by the locals, but the Gap might be a good start.

Personally, I’m a fan of Rag & Bone but I know you wanted to keep it under a certain amount. Still worth a look.

I just bought a pair of ‘Unbranded’ which are below or around 100 quid. Also ‘Nudie’ or ‘N&F’ might be an option but they are slightly more expensive.
