Also, one more reason for wearing my suede chelsea boots with denim is that they look a bit to casual to go well dress pants, although today I am actually wearing them at my job, with a pair of wool slacks and a tweed sport coat.

Basically, I prefer not to wear chelseas when I am wearing a tie, but I make exceptions to this "rule", such as today. Today the excuse is bad weather.

(With black jeans, which I sometimes wear when walking my dogs -but hardly on any other occasion-, I mostly wear dark grey suede chelsea boots or my black Sabelt sneakers, depending on the weather.)

Yes, I definitely agree that a medium brown would normally be preferable with blue jeans; unless the jeans are very dark.

I can also see how one might feel somewhat out of kilter, if one wore a pair of Chelsea boots with formal attire; but I should think they would be fine with neutral, mid-toned wool? Especially if it's in a fairly relaxed and/or slightly rural style.

BTW, please excuse me if I'm not using the right terminology - I know what I mean, visually speaking, but I'm really not up on the correct words to use!

I trust my gf buying me clothes. She has excellent taste in fashion and color. I would definitly let her walk into a Kiton store and come out with a suit for me. She knows what I like and who I like. She knows what colors look good on me and what colors to stay away from. And I buy her some clothes too. I bought her a white sportcoat with black pinstripes that looks amazing on her!

The closest a woman comes to my clothing these days is when I take stuff to my mother for alterations. She is my tailor

I have to give incredibly strict instructions, however, because she just doesn't comprehend a slim fit, trousers with a single a break and sleeves that don't cover my thumbs. In the interests of saving a fortune, it must be done.

I believe it is preferable for the person you like to sleep with to like the clothes you wear. If there are two things I like equally, I will get her opinion and first purchase the item she likes best.

My gf finds my clothing hobby funny at most. She thinks I'm a little crazy and a tad gay. If I let her buy clothes for me, I'd end up dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. No good. In fact, the only piece of clothing she ever bought for me still hangs in my closet with its tags on.

If I let my wife buy clothes for me, we'd end up broke.

She takes style cues from my father, and buys me some great stuff.

I suppose that's an improvement. At least she can appreciate your taste.

Well that is good for you, I hope mine could do the same.

Be careful she could arrange that too, especially if you have a very good life insurance policy...
