I'm not. It wasn't one of the options I suggested. Dress slacks or suite trousers.

I know you didn't. Someone else did and I didn't want you to be swayed!

The daughter of my sophisticated nephew and his wife is becoming a "Bat Mitzvah" and I got the (broadcast e-mail) invitation to celebration near an upstate New York city last week. Apparently in connection with COVID, still, this couple chose to have this away from the synagogue from 11-4 on a Saturday at a winery away from the city - which obviously also serves as an attractive venue for weddings, parties, etc.

Mentioned is "Garden Party Attire (we will be outside - covered areas in case of rain - so a flat or wedge is your best footwear bet!)." How would you guys interpret this as to men's attire?

To emphasize your piety for this deeply religious occasion you should
consider an ensemble like this:

I am going to an outdoor wedding reception in Seattle in 3 weeks and the dress code is summer formal. Knowing Seattle and my niece it will be interesting to see the attire. I am guessing very casual.

This is what I ended up wearing (I'm second from right). The Luciano Barbera sportcoat was found by my tailor to have moth holes (ugh!) so he has a plan for it (it's very valuable and I'd really like to wear it again):

I did purchase a classic navy blazer but worevit for the dinner Fri. evening at my nephew's ultra-elegant country club, along with my Liberty of London black-and-white patterned bowtie, blue dress shirt, very good cufflinks, and gray dress slacks. A staff member saw me walk through a room with the others and remarked something like "Your attire is just it!"
