Picked up a few cheap plaid ties....what to wear them with?

So I snagged a couple cheap ties of ebay, they are similar to these two (same brand in fact)

I just have no idea what kind shirt/sweater, etc to wear with them? Any color I should try to accentuate or match? I tried searching but to little avail. Thanks a lot

Start with plain color shirts and sweaters. Move on to striped shirts and textured sweaters. Avoid checked shirts and sweaters with intricate patterns (fair isles, for example).

The reason you didn't find anything on search is because it's basic color and pattern matching, and that gets discussed in many different threads with many different terms.

I would do either a plain color shirt or s simple stripe pattern, you can't wear a tie like that with a shirt that has too much pattern in it or the whole look becomes busy.

Yeah, white or blue or pink shirt, blue or grey jacket or suit. Great ties for fall through the holidays.
