This is correct.

I saw a sign advertising the Subway cheesesteak and cringed.

On another note, has anyone tried the Philadelphia Cheesesteak Factory in Georgetown? Will they look at me crazy if I order a whiz wit? I'm skeptical, but hopeful. Please help, I'm going through cheesesteak withdrawal!

I have tried it, they have wiz, pizza sauce and Amorosa rolls. I liked it, but my Philly native gf thinks that they put too much wiz on it.

Amoroso's is a big plus in their favor. I don't see too much cheese as a deal-breaker; just remember to tell them to go easy on the whiz. I'll have to check it out.

That's what I said, she insists it's still not right.

Perhaps I'm a heretic, but when I make my own at home I use sauteed onions, grill tenderloin to medium rare, slice it up thinly, and top with provolone.

Maybe I should refrain from calling it a Philly cheesesteak. Either way, it's very good.

tenderloin dosent have enough flavor. It will be more tender, but ribeye has that greesy ***** yummy flavor that makes it a philly cheese steak

steaks cannot exist outside of the philadelphia forcefield, period, regardless of whether or not they use amoroso's or wiz or whatever. besides, the best steak in the city uses neither of those things. however i am reluctant to reveal the name of said restaurant...

If it's not Jim's or Steve's... then share the love.

Tony Luke's cuts their steaks daily and I feel they deliver the highest quality cheese steak not to mention roast port sandwiches and many other Philadelphia specialties.

The best cheesesteak sandwich I've had is located in Costa Mesa, CA kind of close to South Coast Plaza...

It is called Frank's Philadelphia...

All noreasters that I've known that have eaten there say that it's the closest thing to the real deal they've had out here...
