This was actually happening the same time of the online sale (Thanksgiving). I ordered something that was sold out online from the LA store. Items maybe discounted further now.

Vanishing elephant today on Gilt.
Nothing spectacular, tho, IMHO.
Oxfords & wingtips for $99 and $119, respectively.

Contemplating the navy suede oxfords, since I was close to dropping retail on them last summer.

the ones I have are pretty TTS... maybe a bit large, but not so much that I'd recomend going a size down (I don't believe they have half sizes). I wear the same size I wear in everything else and just throw in an insole.

true, but its not too bad for the retail $. Most of their shoes run in the $200s, not the $400+ range

thanks guys. i'd never buy leather shoes from brands like V.E, O.C but for suede it doesn't look too bad. Looks fun for spring/summer.

I'm a 40 in common projects, should I go with the 8?

i heard you need to size up on the vanishing elephant shoes; even the gilt description tells you to size up if you are in between sizes. i am also 40 in common projects and i was thinking of ordering a 9; should i get the 8's? thanks.

A rep from Revolve told me many moons ago to go TTS on VE, even on boots.

bought another pair of the VE shoes on gilt today.
have been wearing a pair for a year or so now.
they are well made. not on par with my allen edmonds, but at the price and with the style i don't think you can go wrong. i met one of the reps at CAPSULE last fall and complimented his shoes. he said that even though they are made in china, they are made in a small workshop and a lot of care is taken to them. it shows.
i highly recommend their shoes. i think they are a good buy at $200+ full retail, $150 or so on sale, and a damn steal at $99.

I have a pair of desert boots and the quality of the leather is absolutely atrocious. They have huge creases on them but it would probably help if I shoe treed them.

Oddly enough, though, I get a lot of complements on them despite the creases. Decent shoes for 100-150.
