Is this the guy who couldn't read when Arrya was the cup girl for Tywin?

No. Kevan is from the main branch of the Lannisters- Tywin's brother. He grew up at Casterly Rock and is well schooled as any second born son of a Lord Paramount's House would be. The cousin on the show was someone who wasn't in the books and was from a cadet branch far removed from the Lannisters of Casterly Rock.

I believe that was Esme Bianco (Ros) who was fired/let go/killed off shortly afterward. Surprising as she was in 14 episodes - they were going out of their way to give her scenes.

Kevan Lannister is in at least 3 or 4 episodes.

Kevan really hasn't made much of an impression on viewers thus far.
If they're going to follow the book and have him take over as Hand once Tywin's dead, they're going to need to throw him a couple of scenes pretty soon. I rather liked him in the books, and the way Varys has him killed at the end is creepy as hell. It would be a shame to lose all that.

I'm also hoping the whole Tywin/Tyrion/Shae thing plays out as it did in the books. That was such a fantastic event for completely resetting Tyrion's allegiances, priorities and general worldview. I'm not sure how the show will be able to deal with him without covering it all.

Or maybe they'll just kill him off, since GRRM is probably pissed at Dinklage for publicly admitting he hasn't read the books.

Weddings are always such joyous occasions in Westeros.

So happy he is finally gone. Tyrion should've drunk the wine to prove it wasn't him. I also didn't notice the assassin mentioned in the book

Been waiting for that now for three whole seasons. Was not as satisfying as it was in the book.

Agreed, but it was still pretty well done. The humiliation of Tyrion was excellent--I cringed several times.

Uh dude...I'm pretty sure that even if you know you are innocent...there is no way in hell you are drinking out of the cup that just poisoned someone. Probably not going to end well.

By Dothraki standards that was a pretty poor excuse for a wedding.

Who will be left to protect Sansa then?

Thank god the Fool is sharp enough to take Sansa out before the shit hit the fan. Seems like he knows something?

Who's gonna save Tyrion at this point? The other half of the Kingslayer Brotherhood?
