new to forum/ budget buy jeans

i need to get more jeans, i tried on most of the levi's red tab yesterday and found i really like the fit of the 514s. i don't much about denim and was wanting to get some of the forum users opinions and takes on the 514s and/or red tab. one of the reasons i am looking toward the red tab line is the price. however, i don't want to get bad denim. so before i buy a few pair i thought i would ask the forum about your own experiences and opinions and takes on these levi's 514 red tab jeans. right now i like these jeans, i want to learn more about denim and don't want to make a noob move and throw cash away. does this make sense?

i know how noob this must sound, being that i am noob to the forum.

I was actually asking him because I have the 514 in rigid scraped raw, worn a little but never washed and pretty much in perfect shape. If he was a 31 or 32 I'd send them to him on the cheap.

hi base, i'm one of the budget oriented people on the forum and i've been happy with the 514's. i have two pairs. also they're real easy to find for $30.

if you have an h&m near you, i would suggest looking at the "h&m sliq raw." they're only $40 and the fit is pretty damn good. i have a pair of those also.

my waist is 34. i searched for 514, levi's red, red tab. i don't think the search engine likes number characters. i'll look through for those threads though, thank you.

some of the 514s are available in "12oz" and some in "stretch" i didn't know this until i looked at the levi's website. is 12 oz heavy or more durable? thanks again, you guys are great.

Haha well cool, I'm in seattle too, so if you ever get down to a 32 waist I can hand you my jeans in person. I have a pair of levi's matchsticks, which are nice denim that fades great, but they've stretched too much for me to wear them. Those might do well for you.

I third the H&M sliqs... since you're in Seattle I know you don't have an H&M, but one is opening in Vancouver on August 23rd... If you feel like the drive. Also, Cheap Mondays are pretty okay, but for the price, the sliqs are much much better.

Yup, barney's NY has Cheap Mondays, but I've never seen a pair I would wear from them...
