MTM Suit Advice Please

Was in NYC recently and had a chance to visit LS Clothing. Not sure what to think of the joint but I have heard good things. Kind of a odd place but figured I would see what it's all about.

Izzy recommends either Coppley (Hartmarx in Canada) or H. Freeman (Maryland). He says the HF has more detail so I tried one on. They run about $800 delivered with buttonholes and "pic" stitching.

Here's my question. Are they really full canvas or half?

Also, locally I can get a Samuelsohn of the rack for $850. Does anyone have firsthand experience with BOTH, not just one?

Or Does anyone know of any Hickey Freeman, Oxxford or other 2 bottom conservative looking stripes of solids that are preowned. I measure a perfect 42 short in a Hickey or a bit larger in an Oxxford.
