Messenger Bag For School Use

i like the chrome messenger bags with the seatbelt buckles, but they are very gimmicky. :/

I bought one used off of ebay for school use and now that I have it I would never use the thing off a bike. It's designed to be worn while leaning forward and is uncomfortable as hell used standing. That said it is great on a bike though. Very comfortable even with a pretty cumbersome load (did 20ish pounds of mangoes the other day and it didn't bounce around or feel weird on my back)

I think the buckle is actually pretty cool though

I alternate b/t a red Jack spade messenger and a Chrome bag in grey/black. I love them both. The Chrome is the best messenger style bag IMO for holding a macbook AND textbooks.

Do you walk around with it or ride a bike to get places? I find it pretty uncomfortable with a load in it while walking.

I find that the chrome bags are indeed far better on a bike, if you load it right, it can sit on your back walking like a backpack which is how i wear it standing.

And as far as gimmicky, it wasn't gimmicky when I was the only kid walking around with one. Personally, I blame part of their success on the review I wrote for notebookreview.com (it's still one of the top hits on google when you search "chrome bag review"), but at least they paid me

I do both and the load has never really bothered me.
