Someone got his historical dates muddled up.

The shoes worn by Olivier in 1957 could not have been made by George Cleverley but by Tuczek (in whose employment GC was at the time). Cleverley left the firm in 1958 to set up his own shop in Cork Street which he closed in 1976(?). The firm ‘Cleverley’ in London’s Royal Arcade, set up by John Carnera and George Glasgow, was established in the mid-90s.

Not quite that line of continuity we are led to believe.

Years ago (maybe 1999) I was doing a work experience placement and had to write a short bit about Terrence Stamp (might have been when The resident of Britain came out).

That man is very much into his bespoke shoes. Had loads made then started doing Pilates which changed his posture and gait enough for him to have to replace them all.

I think Tuczek's grandson is even a member here. He posted a bit ago asking questions. Some people even have a few of his shoes.
