If you could only wear one fragrance for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Have you tried any Serge Lutens, LK? It seems a brand you might like. It's too heavy for me, but it has a sort of sweet, thick, syrupy luxe decadence that can't be beat (if that's your thing). It's foul and dark and yet sort of sublime, all at the same time. I'd recommend Ambre Sultan, Fumerie Turque, or Chergui if you are near a barney's sometime. Arabie, Miel des Bois, and Santal Blanc might be three more for you to try. The last one (santal blanc) is absolutely foul; you just might love it. haha

I've tried Tabac Blonde and did not care for it much. Nombre Noir I once briefly smelled, but alas I do not recall it in any great detail.

The Serge Lutens stuff at Barneys I've also sampled, but none of it really caught my nose.It doesn't quite have that smokiness of the older scents I prefer.

Zing!

I would go with Sandalwood from Art of Shaving. Not a renown 'name brand', but it is simple, not overbearning, and good.

I'll check out NM tomorrow.

So sad that they've discontinued it (or, at least, pulled back its distribution... I can't find it anymore).

It's a shame how interesting versions of fragrances just seem to die. I've heard that Angel Men Pure Coffee is loads better than the original, yet it's nowhere to be found.

That is a good one; I had a bottle of that and enjoyed it. Though, I also got a lot of eucalyptus in it, too, and so for some I can see that might be a turnoff. As well, the AOS really reacted well with heat; if you wear it to the gym or for a round of squash... it really comes alive.

I thought of another "lifetime" scent that is hard to find, but wonderful... Creed Bois du Santal. It's the most unique Sandalwood scent I've tried.

This is nice. Did you ever try Malle's Vetiver Extraordinaire (out of curiosity)?

I'd rather trust the blogs in this case; I remember smelling the EDP a while back, and it was somehow less visceral than the EDT.
